Born May 23, 1980, I Robyn am a fourth generation missionary. I was born in the Philippines where my parents were serving as missionaries with New Tribes Mission. At the age of four my parents moved to Papua New Guinea, where my dad continued serving as a pilot and aircraft mechanic.
I placed my faith in Christ at an early age through the ministry and teaching from my parents. My parents returned to the United States when I was 8 years old. During this transitional phase of my life, my Aunt and Uncle paid for me to attend a week of summer camp with my cousin. This became a rooted anchor in my life as I looked forward to summers spent at Pine Ridge Bible Camp, a Christian camp in Cedar Springs, Michigan.
As I grew older, I went from spending a week each summer as a camper to dedicating my whole summers to work as camp staff for the next 7 years. It was while at camp that I was challenged to serve the Lord in full-time missions by a missionary speaker that came and shared their passion and heart for missions. At the age of 17 the Lord took me back to Papua New Guinea on a short-term missions trip through Destination Summit with New Tribes Mission. It was at this time that the Lord broke my heart for the lost people of Papua New Guinea.
After graduating from high school and attending a local community college, I received my Associates in Business while preparing to enter into the four-year training program with New Tribes Mission. In the spring of 2000, I attended New Tribes Bible Institute in Jackson, Michigan where I met Levi. We were married August 31, 2002. Together we completed our Missions training with New Tribes Mission May of 2005.
October 10, 2005 God added to our family through the miracle of our first son, Michael Robert. After being told that we may not be able to have children, his birth brought about such a rich blessing to our lives. (Read more about Michael on his page.)
December 29, 2006 we boarded an airplane departing for Madang, Papua New Guinea arriving New Years Eve to our new home. Only weeks after our arrival we recieved another surprise as we discovered we were pregnant with our second child! With the blessing of our leadership, Levi and I pushed hard to learn the National Language- Melanesian Pidgin- before our brief return to the United States for the delivery of our second son. After 7 months of hard study, Levi completed check four, the final fluency check in 'Tok Pisin.'
September 10, 2007 God again gave us another miracle through the birth of our second son, Daniel Aaron! (Read more about Daniel on his page.)
November 29, 2007 We returned to Madang, Papua New Guinea where we have agreed to serve on our support center over seeing the center maintenance program and national workers for one year while we begin to contact the different regions, seeking partners and a location to allocate to with hopes early spring 2009.
